About
This map is generated using the Planet.osm
extracts for Scotland, provided by Geofabrik
This is processed using Osmosis with the TagTransform plugin.
Then the maps are generated using Mkgmap.
The example screenshots are from a Garmin eTrex Venture Cx.
This map mainly uses the name:gd
tag - gd is the ISO
639-1 code for Scottish Gaelic (GĂ idhlig).
This map also translates a number of standard operator and name tags,
plus setting some Gaelic default names for unnamed features.
For instructions for how to add more Gaelic names to the map, see How to add Gaelic names.
These Garmin maps will be updated monthly.
